So I had to login on mobile to claim keys and do dailys for a couple of days due to vacation lol.

This was not a very nice experience,

Trying to loggin into my other account, was so much work,

I litterly asked me to login to jagex account again, when i tried to switch to my 2nd character. Also it send another email with code. My email is filled with emails from Jagex with codes atm.

I was using Authencitator from Google before Jagex acount, had to do that every 30 days..

Now I have to put in codes, passwords every F-ing time i want to play .

Well my solution was to not switch character on mobile, just Forget about you ALTS.

Dont use your TH keys, and wait till you vacation is over and I could play on PC again.


I cant imagine anyone at Jagex who have more then 1 account , and tested this,

was like, Oh yeah this is how we want it, so Runescapey.

They know is isn't great - they acknowledged that in the newspost they put out when announcing the original closed beta (underlining is mine):

How does it work together with mobile?

When logging in on mobile using a Jagex Account, you’ll see an extra screen to choose which character to use for that session. That character will be remembered by the game, so you do not need to log in again if you want to keep using it for future game sessions. If you want to switch characters, you’ll need to log out and log in again, choosing the other character you want to use. We are aware this isn’t ideal and will be working to improve it once Jagex Accounts are available to players.

With all of that said, do you hold up a system that provides better security for our accounts just because the mobile experience needs to be improved, or do you roll it out allowing people to take advantage of the added security while having to deal with the less-than-ideal experience while work is done to improve it? Personally, I'd rather the added security with the less-than-ideal experience, but maybe that depends from player to player.


You can still use the Google Authenticator with your Jagex Account by the way, you just have to enable it in the Jagex Account settings, go through the setup process like you did for your RuneScape accounts prior, and save off the backup codes somewhere safe. You don't have to rely on codes sent to your email every time.

Wow, finally the information I've been looking for. THANK YOU! Why was this not made obvious months ago? I like the Jagex Accounts system but the email code every log in was frustrating to say the least.
