So, they've removed buffs thanks to everyone complaining. And they've prioritised doing that before restoring old features (like bringing back daily challenges). What is going on at Jagex? It almost seems spiteful. I was looking forward to using the "-20% damage at zammy" but I never got the chance because you all whined it into the ground, like a bunch of spoilt babies. The old way was overpowered. You're only sad because you don't get easy/lazy exp. SMH.

Jagex, you need a backbone, the customer is not always right. Complaints will always sound louder, but that doesn't make them the majority (or priority). The fire started with the announcement, after that it was mob mentality / tantrum time. Players are fickle, they can go from loving something to hating it in a second. If we had known of this update sooner or if it were communicated better players wouldn't have been so critical. it's how it was presented / the lead up, that's what made it look like greed.

If you look at Hero Pass from a future rs standpoint, it has more legs than the old 'quick and easy' daily tasks. It keeps people busy for longer. The 3 minute daily task for 100k exp and 3 keys was/is nice, but it doesn't feel substantial. That said, I think the 'quick and dirty' daily task feature is good if you want players to have multiple acc memberships. From a business standpoint, I'd say it was silly to remove that (to encourage more key purchases?) I'm sure you're playing 3D chess here. I'm just sad to be losing something that seemed aimed at solo players wanting 'depth' in this game, over all the whining quick exp junkies.

I think if you had brought back daily challenges and made Hero Pass rewards more cosmetic, that'd have solved most of what's going on in the forums and on Reddit. Removing buffs as your first action seems silly to me. Anyway, that's my opinion so far (subject to change).

+ Don't give in to the vocal minority holding their membership ransom, it's not a good look.

Well some of the buffs like slayer and clue scroll were easyscape too so... If you want to choose a task for you for slayer use the 120 slayer cape if you want 1 less step per clue use totem of treasure. :) If you want damage reduction at zammy use animate dead. I need my blue charms back.

That's not how it works, especially when it comes to monetisation and microtransactions. These types of update are already expected to be unpopular from the start. The question is: "How unpopular?"

As feedback is received and actions are taken, this data is taken to form a cost-benefit analysis. Evidently with the Hero Pass it was enough to act, even though it carries similar problems to Yak Track. There have been a number of updates in the past which have been perceived as unpopular, but not enough to have undertaken such an extreme business decision as reversal.
