There's the 'different person, different time' aspect and there's 'different direction / vision' of the company. One certainly affects the other but I think OP is more mad about the 'direction' RS is heading. Interesting topic though, rosy retrospection, we're all guilty of it, hyping up memories of the past (ex partners, etc). But yeah, I wouldn't give Jagex a free pass on this one, using OP exp/hr as a tool to pump up engagement figures on new content, devaluing time invested by older players should not be encouraged. IMO. There are better ways to get people interacting with new content. Easier does not equal better. I understand they want to make changes, but they need to be more considerate of new/old players (time spent) IMO. I'm sure they know one of the biggest retainment metrics of any MMO is a player feeling 'pot committed' or invested by how long they've been playing. If they keep making shit easier, that's basically trading old players for new. Which is probably a sustainable model actually, as people do grow out of games (on average). But it's not right 'morally' from my perspective.

I tried playing some old PS1 games last year :P Besides me having a different mindset, it's just not the same on 1080 displays. Something to do with the old black lines between pixels...

Im sorry but if folks hated "easyscape" items, they wouldnt buy them. Quick or extended XP, there is no denying that XP is the goal.

At first I though it was great that quests and skills have been entermingled into certain activities. Lately, at least in my gameplay, its been a drawback. I have the level, but I need to do some quests now, or get another skill to a certain level first.

Even PVM - you cant just go PVM unless you are maxed. Even so, you need friends. I was lucky and found someone early that was pushing me into PVM, but at level 112 it wasnt hard to see that I would never gain the skill levels I needed to be effective at PVM if all I did was go PVM.

It is what it is.

There is fun content. Take yourself off the hamster wheel. A lot of the problem is really our own egos sometimes. Its a game, you do it for pleasure. Do it at a pace thats fun for you.

I mean, if you quit you wont be the best at anything, so you can cut the pie the way you like it, or throw the pie away. Its really in your hands, and truth be told, it always was.
