Degrading on dummies?

Why does gear degrade when training on dummies? It wont gain xp when augmented. It should do both one way or the other not the worst of both cases.

you are still getting xp from the dummy, and the armour is helping that.

augmented gear needs to be exempt from degrading while fighting dummies so players don't lose charges unnecessarily.
