Guys and Gals Please read this.

Since my childhood days I've been hooked on OSRS. I have invested years on this game achieving levels and buying the best items. This game really helped me during high school, college (got my masters), and difficult situations. I used this game as a stress reliever. Recently, I got a new phone so i decided to disable my auth and enable the auth on my new phone. I guess this 10min window gave the hackers time to get into my account. I didn't log in for a week after that. (due to work & family). Yesterday I've tried to log in only to receive my log in credentials were invalid. I was shocked. I've tried again and same message popped up. I quickly changed my pw and was able to log in. I saw that my bank pin was gone and my bank was down to 2m from 600m. I was devastated, I felt all those years went to waste. My entire day yesterday was ruined. My wife thought I was mad at her because of how down I was yesterday. Today i've decided to write on forum to bring awareness that you shouldn't invest so much time on a game. Go outside, invest in yourself. Buy educational courses to elevate yourself. If school is not for you, enroll in a trade school. Get ahead in life. INVEST IN YOURSELF. I loved this game so much. After the hacking I can't get myself to play again. Rebuilding is something I'm not interested in doing. Thank you for reading.

ive had to rebuild before, not from a hacking, but it was one of the most fun i had in the game. either way if this is the end, its sad to see someone go on in such circumstances. as you said you enjoyed the game and it helped you, thats nothing bad. balance is important of course. but if its a hobby and youve balanced it with work /education / family etc then its all good.

Jagex doesn't care about what circumstance you got hacked. They will lead you to believe that through "Technical Limitations" they cannot restore you any items if not some. This is obviously a lie because they made the game they could add or delete anything they want to. They simply don't want to help you out. One thing that blizzard does great is make items soul bound so that in a worse case scenario and someone gets onto your account they can run off with the loot. The funny thing is if they ever got hacked you can bet yourself that their items would be restored. You think after years of paying for subscriptions you would have a positive relationship with them and they would be able to help. I recommend WoW they are pretty good at account/character restoration. They have helped me numerous times. Jagex made one of the best games I have ever played in my life. Unfortunately their customer service is one of the worst.

I logged in today for the first time i a very long time (cant remember exactly when i last played). I had my authenticator on and yet somehow they have manage to access my account. Is there anyway to get my hard earned stuff back or am I on my own?

No. Jagex will not make your account whole again. It doesn't matter that you spent thousands of hours and real money buying their subscriptions. Due to "Technical Limitations" they cannot (Won't) return any items back to you. It sucks I know it does. I am dad now and I do not have time to grind this for hours on end to be able to do end game content again. Best thing I can recommend is you go play a different game like WoW. You can actually soul bound items in WoW and they will actually return lost/stolen items back you. Their customer service is really good. That is where Jagex lacks. My advice is move on and find a new game where the customer service doesn't throw their rule book at you.

I played that game off and on for many years. Compared to RS, its an expensive game. Add $20 +/- to the price of an expansion pack and you have RS membership for a year. On top of that that game requires $15 a month subscription fee.

I dont know about the CS in that game because I never was hacked. You dont lose anything on death and only get a repair bill - if that. What Soulbound does is keep you from farming items in instances for resale even if your toon's class or build cant use those items which makes the run fairer, giving priority to classes the item was designed for. You pick it up, its yours, and the rest of your team will let you know if you took something that was perfect for another member of the group.

Personally, and I know its hard, but I would do better at watching my account and keep playing RS if you love it and have great memories here. I mean, you are a grown person with a Masters, and I get that it was a blow, but 600M really isnt that much gps, and I bet if you used a money-making guide and some ingenuity you could recoup it faster than you think.
