I can sum up this entire game in four words, LONG, TEDIOUS AND BORING.

From start till finish, all this company does now is cater and pander to whales and the only reason I play it is because there is quite honestly nothing else to play, most of the modern AAA games are filled with hackers and much like this game massive MTX/Price gouging, so that garbage is out the window, once Bonds on this game reach an unreasonable price making F2P membership unobtainable I'll be hopping off this game too.

It's quite honestly baffling to me that every developer in modern gaming prioritizes profits over fun when you're suppose to prioritize fun which then leads to profits as the more people are having fun the more likely they are to spend money, like with Animate Undead, it made the game a lot more fun and I was more willing to spend money which I did, but of course they have to pander to the whales and nerf the fun for everyone else.

Quests are meaningless as they provide little to no benefit for completion other than unlocking certain magic books, I literally had to go make 12 alt accounts for upkeep on my main and a bit of extra money for unlocks because each unlock ranges from 300M-1B+ and there's over 100 as well as drop rates being near 0%, bossing is an absolute button mashing horror not to mention the absolute ridiculous grind, like you gotta grind 3 months to get an automatic potion sipper but hey you can buy these game changing end game weapons & armor for $300 in Bonds no grind needed, nothing in this game makes sense anymore.

It's a real sad day for gaming, it's a real sad era in gaming history, all these investment groups and price gouging developers have ruined gaming for so many kids I honestly can't wait until a true competitor comes along and just annihilates these types of companies, of course they'll always exist with their Multi-Billion dollar investment groups but more and more people are leaving these types of games and thank freaking GOODNESS.

This post seems quite hypocritic to me. If you hate MTX so much, why are you actively using MTX vessels (bonds) to pay for membership on alts to boost your main account?

I fully agree that games are to be played, and end-game content should be accessible by playing the game. However, I believe most RS players play this game for the journey, not the destination. That's why we see so many people still playing 10, 15, 20 years later.

Those that buy their way to end-game content tend not to stick around. Yes they may reach the upper-echelons of bossing much quicker, but they probably won't get the same sense of satisfaction as those who played their way through the content before that.

Honestly, it sounds like this game is not for you. If you think it's long, tedious and boring, then perhaps something with a faster pace, shorter completion times, and more exciting is your cup of tea. There are many, many games out there, and many that are not online multiplayer so you can easily avoid similar problems plaguing other online games.

If you cannot find anything else, perhaps gaming simply isn't for you.

"I can sum up this entire game in four words, LONG, TEDIOUS AND BORING."

If you are talking about the genre of RPG, being "LONG" is good, and actually not good enough. As Jagex is telling us they "make forever games", they want their games to be not just "LONG" but "forever". The storylines of RS3 are long, very long with many major storylines since 15 years ago when we pre-World-Guradian moved the needle to Daemonheim, and becoming episodic in recent years and still going and going and going... hopefully for the next 20 years if not forever.

Tedious? MMO are unfortunately tedious in some nature as it is not that easy to come up with fresh ideas nowadays. The good thing in RS3's case is it is adopting the methodology of most still vastly successful MMO to reduce grinding and provide multiple progression paths with different gameplays for different kinds of players. They come shy of putting instant level 90 characters/skill and story skips as some biggest and most successful MMO are doing though. While we don't go directly to endgame like all players starting out maxed, we have heaps of fast track progression paths for different kinds of players. Typically it only takes months for really new players to RS3 to max all skills, comparing to years in the cases for most old school MMORPGs like Tibia.

Boring? This is purely personal and comparative. You need to tell us more on what aspects you think RS3 is boring, and what are you comparing it to first.

"I play it is because there is quite honestly nothing else to play"

OK. You don't like RS3 but you still play it because in your own words "there is honesty nothing else to play". So, there is nothing better for you to play than RS3 in your own words. Comparatively speaking, until you can find yourself something better to play than RS3, you are essentially telling us RS3 is better than anything you can play therefore you still play it. :)

What developers don't prioritizes profits over fun? Otherwise, all games will be completely free to play with no subscription and no buy to play box fees. Games don't prioritize profits over fun are now in the video game museums, for instance, Meridian 59.

"Quests are meaningless as they provide little to no benefit for completion other than unlocking certain magic books"

This is completely not true. RS3 didn't have any magic books to unlock for like a decade. Nowadays, quests unlock different kinds of benefits for different kinds of skills. For instance, Fort Forinthry quests unlock new benefits and ways for construction, WC, fletching, herblore, slayer, prayer etc. Necromancy invent a totally brand new combat style with all kinds of new armors, rituals, pocket slot items, mobs among other upcoming things like gemstones.

" I literally had to go make 12 alt accounts for upkeep on my main and a bit of extra money for unlocks because each unlock ranges from 300M-1B+ and there's over 100 as well as drop rates being near 0%"

This is again 100% untrue. We have numerous unlocks totally free, and heaps of new methods added with all these recent updates. If you are talking about combat drop, they are easily obtainable. Some streamers made 3 bil gp on his stream just from day one of Vorkath for an example.

"but hey you can buy these game changing end game weapons & armor for $300 in Bonds no grind needed, nothing in this game makes sense anymore."

Unfortunately bond MTX is in Jagex's Runescape games. They are the most pay to win MTX by a wide margin. However, whales having to pay $300 in bonds in RS3 for these "game changing end game weapons & armors" in RS3 is still far far better than having to pay

this makes me think you dont understand the game at all.

quests are insane for unlocks and are 100% worth it. this small little sentence you say, makes you lose all credibility

just to say make another account, do no quests at all and see how different the game is.
200m all RS3 on 7/3/19
1.2Billion overall Slayer xp / Ultimate slayer title

OSRS 2277/2277 Untrim slayer cape
