Today I decided to log into rs3 for the first time in 10 years to find I had to create a Jagex account not knowing the cons, I went ahead and proceeded this process only to find out I now have to use the Jagex launcher every time to run Runelite. is there any way to reverse this?

I'm an OSRS player now instead of just simply opening up RuneLite and using my username and password to login I have to launch the Jagex launcher first and now signing in on the website I have to verify with a code how is this easier?

launcher you can set so it starts up automatically when turning on computer, then its 1 click to start playing. thats literally the fastest it can be really.

you only need to verify once for website. click login on the home page it will just be select character no login needed. or you can click on the lobby section to to be sent to website while logged in.


one point of launcher / jagex account is for smoother easier faster log in (obviously much safer)

I don't like messing with all that tbh I just want to click runelite and login and at this moment my launcher isn't loading up runelite ughhhh I'm prob just going to give up on this account and just use my other one and not link it to a jagex account

what do you mean you dont like messing with that? messing with what?


why give up over this? this is literally the better option to have on your account.

what do you mean launcher is loading runelite? it should just be a drop down.

i perfer to have my jagex acc removed, i dont like it , it shouldnt be here, i did it accidnetally and i do not want it please help me seriously there is a way u guys can remove this, theres no way this can be permanent, if so ill just quit to many changes

If discussed, we may be able to help.

Linking your character to a Jagex Account is an irreversible process. You won't be able to go back to the original log-in method, and even if you could, this method will be disbanded before long meaning you will only be able to play RS via a Jagex Account regardless.

jagex launcher was failing to load runelite is a common problem but seems to be an easy fix. I had to reinstall runelite and it seems to work now but i've removed the jagex launcher from my computer and just using my 2nd account that i've also had since 2006 if this launcher stuff is forced on to me in the future that will just be the end of my runescape career lol.
