Today was a very disappointing day for me. OSRS is my favorite game, and I have so many awesome memories with it. I want it to keep growing and thriving, so that we can all enjoy it for years to come. But Jagex seems to be jumping on the bandwagon with other companies that push leftwing agendas on their customers, and I beleive that they will suffer financially as a result.

I'm all for being tolerant of others, and accepting them for who they are. But I speak for a lot of people when I say I don't appreciate having the LGBTQ agenda shoved down my throat, and seeing their rainbow flags waved all over the place. Please take a moment to consider whats happening to other companies who behave this way. Target recently added an "LGBTQ section" to their stores, and lost over $15 billion in market value in less than a month. Similar fiascos have happened with Disney, Budlight, etc.

The runescape playerbase knows how to vote with their wallets. History has shown this time and time again. I voted with my wallet back in 2007 when Jagex decided to end Free Trade. And again in 2012 after the EOC debacle. Don't be surprised if Jagex's new embrace of wokeness has similar effects. All I ask is for them to take a neutral stance on these issues.

people seem to be very sensitive these days, get offended over rainbows... crazy


happy pride everyone else though :) that isnt offended by rainbows, and people being who they are.

i do have to ask though

why is it so bad companies do pride? why does it effect you so much?

and can you please define woke? i hear it a lot but always hear different opinions on what it means.

I've gently closed this thread to further posting.

There is a real risk that this thread could begin to show some extremist views, people may regret their comments and casual readers might be offended along the way.

The thread is essentially a 'rant' about our desire to make the communities inclusive and welcoming, that alone is red flag. That said a few people have posted comments to offer a balanced view.

It's not my intention to stifle healthy discussion, but leaving this thread viewable but not able to be added to, seems a common sense compromise.
