A way to recover Golden Tench.

I accidentally equipped Iron Knives I got from the Storage Crate from Varrock Museum..... it then either allowed me to put my now unequipped 1/20k Golden Tench into the the Storage Crate you put the finds into, or allowed me to drop the Golden Tench without warning when I was cleaning the junk out from my inventory to start a fresh inventory of cleaning.

At this point, most of the rare drops can be recovered one way or another. Kind of irritating that the Tench cannot.

I know that it is possible to trade the Tench for Molch pearls, so I guess the game wouldn't have a way of differentiating if you lost the Tench by accident, or traded it for Pearls. I now have a nasty placeholder for it that will forever haunt me. It is also obviously in my collection log so the game knows I have earned it.

I still think its a bit of an over-sight to allow to drop the tench without warning. (I AM 100% I GOT NO WARNING). As I say I'm not even sure if I dropped it, not sure if there is a bug that allows the tench to be placed in the finds Storage Crate, but then again I highly doubt even with a game as old as OSRS, people have attempted to put a tench in that Storage Crate.

It immediately vanished without any chance to pick up, gone forever from my inventory.

Aerial Fishing isn't exactly the most exhilarating of tasks and the odds are not great for that tench.

Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry to hear that you lost your Golden Tench.

I went ahead and tested this out for you using BOTH scenarios mentioned.

Scenario #1: Using the Golden Tench on the Storage Crate in the Varrock Museum. Here is what prompts up when done so:



Scenario #2: Dropping the Golden Tench. Here is what prompts up:



It's impossible to store the Golden Tench in the Storage Crate and you do get a warning if you attempt to drop the Golden Tench. You might've dropped it accidentally and skipped through the dialogue. Unfortunately, there's no way to recover it so best you head back over to Lake Molch and get Aerial Fishing! Some Huge Catches await you... again.

Keep your chin up and use that Golden Tench placeholder as motivation. You'll get another one quick hopefully! ;)
