I just tried logging in to my three accounts and the same message comes up for all three: "Too many login attempts.You can use the Jagex Launcher to continue playing...". So we are now being forced to use the new launcher? I don't want to use it because it broke RS on my main computer. I can't lobby without restarting the client and cant hop which makes visiting citadel impossible. I submitted a ticket to Jagex and just got a "we are aware of the problem, but don't have a solution...blah blah...ticket closed". I'm afraid to install that launcher on this computer for fear it will forever lock me out of the citadel. "Not all who wander are lost." -J.R.R. Tolkien

did you switch to jagex account?

if you switched over to it, then yes. by the sounds of it you switched over

you accepted that the only way to play would be through jagex launcher. otherwise it be pointless... thats the whole point of it

there was a warning before you switched over, saying this is a permanent change once done you wont be able to log in the previous way (something along those lines)

so you werent forced to at all. you accepted that this would be the way to log in from here on out.

I had the same deal. They just randomly locked me out and insisted I download the launcher. I felt like I had no choice in the matter, because I didn't.

I'm curious if that expires after some time or if it is permanent.

I believe that until you make a Jagex account and port your characters into that account, you can EITHER log in via the launcher, or directly to the game client. It is only after you import to a Jagex account (which is still in beta version and you might not even have access to) that your old login credentials are invalidated and you HAVE to log in via the launcher. Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

I just checked the post I made about this back in January. I was in the lobby and tried entering the game when I got the first error of too many logins.

Then on restarting the client I was locked out and required the launcher. That is not related to the accounts beta thing.

that wont really matter to them lol as it sounds like you are doing this as a protest.
