is anybody else just totally in awe of this company?

I've been playing this game for years, well over a decade, and this company really blows my mind with some of these decisions.

I don't understand how Jagex can just make terrible decisions for Runescape literally every other update, and stay in business.
Why do players put up with it?

How does Jagex get away with ignoring feedback every time they screw up? How have they maintained a playerbase year after year after year after year of bad updates and unpopular changes?

Free trade removal
EOC
Squeal of fortune
Treasure Hunter promos
Removing tutorial Island
Rune Pass
Yak Track
The skill cape visual rework
Hero Pass

Jagex is aware of how bad they are at handling this game. They literally sold official merchandise, a shirt that said "Worst update ever"

Whatever happened to the "We pay, We say" slogan people used to have?
Whatever happened to the community polls?
Remember when people voted on updates lmfao, I guess Jagex didn't want something like player opinions getting in the way...sad.

Solomons store flopped I guess, because it was supposed to be the big money maker keeping the game afloat.

Now that you mention it, I totally forgot about Community Polls O_o

Oh my Zammy, now I remember the day Jagex removed free trade. Derp.

I'm guilty of liking Yak Track since it was a Grindfest and I love grinding stuff, but I agree on TH promos, The "Squeeze of your Fortune" and at some point, the recent Hero Pass.

I could be wrong and paranoid, but if your player base decrease you gotta come up with some strategies to keep budget afloat. The rest is self-explanatory. Only during DXP live I've seen RS3 full worlds and if my memory doesn't betray me, there were at least 3 or 4 full worlds at any given time. And I'm talking about the time when RS already got rid of majority of bots.

I share your feelings towards these changes throughout the years. But what can I say? I'm still hooked to this game, either by habit, resilience towards any kind of update or plain MMORPG addiction.

To be honest, I'm surprised how fast Jagex took in consideration some of the player feedback regarding HP. Still, not all of it and of course they didn't mention anything regarding the Daily Challenge keys.

Because whatever they screw up is only a tiny part of the entire game, and it doesn't make any difference to the overall playing expericene.

Also, most of the things you have listed are bonus events that give people extra XP for doing virtually nothing. They don't even need to be in the game. They only reflect people's laziness and greed. In my opinion they should all be removed: Yak Track, Treasure Hunter, Hero Pass, Daily Challenges etc. Work on your skills in the game instead of this passively handing out XP nonsense.
