Why is Banite ore so slow?

Banite or is like 500 ores per 3 hours at 99 mining and elder rune pickaxe +5?!?!? How the hell is that even possible LOL and if it is the case (which it is) why the hell is Banite so cheap if it takes so long to gather? Nothing about this game is adding up

~A~ I am using Stone spirits and perfect Juju Potions but not rockertunities as my main method is afk but still it shouldn't take me 3 hours to earn 500 ores lol 3 hours to earn 1000 ores with spirits is what I'm currently doing but that's STEEP especially for the price lol

why not?

Because I can make more profit mining cheaper ore as I earn it at a faster rate?

then mine that instead.

all items prices are dictated by supply and demand from the players, not jagex. to have it so low tier ores are worse off gp wise than higher tier ones would be an impossible feat for jagex accomplish.

if you are mining for money, and there is faster money than the ore you are mining now, then mine that instead, it doesnt have to be the highest lvl ore.

Not really, because you can do the same with any other ore. Banite are still slow compared to everything else.

Not really, because you can do the same with any other ore. Banite are still slow compared to everything else. That's because Banite is a higher level ore than others - with the exception of Animica.

Higher level ores are always slower to mine than lower level ores. I don't see what the problem is?

Nope. Necrite and phasmatite are higher level than orichalcite and drakolith, but they are faster to mine. 1300 duration compared to 1400.

You can almost always make more profit from lower level items, because they don't give much XP, which means that not many people gather them. They are still needed though for making stuff, so people buy them. It's the same with cutting normal logs. That is also more profitable than most other logs, because no one does it.

Another thing that should not be missed is that gathering higher levled items is typically more relaxing. Things take longer, so there is not as much clicking. You don't fill up your inventory or box as fast, so there is less running to and from banks. If you use porters to bank them, they are used less often. If you use an ore box and stone spirits, then mining iron requires much more attention than mining banite, which is much more afkable.
