Hi, certain forums like Rants are restricted to registered users. I believe the reason for this is negative comments would appear on internet searches and give a poor idea about the game and its forums. Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot !

Hey, Pkz77.

The Rants and Off-Topic sub-forums are only visible to players that are logged in. One of the reasons, as mentioned above by Corder, is that as a business, you wouldn't want a negative aspect of your game to be shown on Internet searches, such as Google. If you really want to see what goes on, then you are invited to create an account in order to be able to see their contents.

It has nothing to do with you being a new player or not. It's simply required that you are logged in to be able to see these sub-forums :) .

As this is asking about the forums, rather than an event, it has been moved to the Website and Forums Forum.

I can't see certain forum posts that I can view as a guest. Is this because I am new to the forums?

If there are forum that you can see when not logged in that you can't see when logged in, could you provide a screenshot or description of what those forums are?

Thanks

I am having this same issues. When I am not logged in, I can see a certain forum. When I log IN to my account, I can no longer see the thread and the QFC says the thread does not exist. I am trying to find a certain events thread

It sounds like you're signing in to a fake (phishing) website - make sure you're signing in to runescape.com and not runescape.xxx - just to be on the safe side, I recommend you secure your device and account using the tips here:

As accusations may not be made on the forums about other players by name, the post above has been hidden. It is quoated below with the name removed.:

Links found on YouTube, Twitch, FaceBook or other social media page, promising you free gp or entry into a contest in exchange for a forum post, most often are links claiming to be to the RS Forums but actually leading to a phishing site. Those people are not really giving away gp. They are trying to steal your account details.

Do not follow links that you have been given by others to access the RuneScape site. Instead type the address yourself, or use browser bookmarks that you have set yourself.

If someone is pressuring and/or bribing you to visit any website, even a YouTube or Facebook page, it's best to report them for advertising a website and then add them to your ignore list.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

These phishing scams should be reported to the social media platform on which they are found. They can also be reported to Jagex via the Phishing Report Centre sticky .
