I do not believe that they would ever merge both websites given the mere fact that they are two different versions of the game
As with Dilbert, you've misinterpreted what I'm suggesting.

I am sure that they'd love to keep them separated as both games have their own fans and community
Makes no sense to me how it helps Jagex to encourage two seperate communities to exist. Why wouldn't it benefit them to have their communities align?

Right now, if I click on it, it will take me to the main Forums page here on the RS3 version of the website. It should not be this way.
That's not what it does for me. It does exactly what you say it should do. Notice in the url from the link on the OSRS page, it says, "#group63". Do you have a javascript blocker or something perhaps?

I am sorry if I misunderstood what you are suggesting. Do you mind elaborating exactly what your suggestion is so that we don't misinterpret it?

It says "#group63" for me as well, but it does not take me to the OSRS sub-forums:

Google Chrome:

Opera:

Neither of them take me directly to the OSRS sub-forums.

I don't see Jagex can merge RS3 and OSRS websites because they are very different games with very different features such as different Hiscores, different Mobile support, different GE. Everything is just different.

Besides, Jagex is getting more Runesape franchise games. Are we going to put all these different games with different features on the same website? The answer is clearly not. It is just almost impossible not to backfire and cause a lot of confusion.
It doesn't sound like you read what I wrote, because that's not what I want either.

It doesn't sound like you realize my comment is not directly at you. My comment is my opinions to everybody about the problems using one website for multiple games, regardless what their opinions are. :)

If Jagex want to make changes to their websites, they better be meaningful and helpful for both their business and the players. For instance, if they are going to add links, they should links to Steam and FB and such as players login there too.

As in OSRS's case of their website, they need to add links not just to Steam and FB, but also RS3 as there is really no business reason not to have a RS3 link from OSRS but there is a link from RS3 to OSRS. This gives the entire business world an extreme sense of unprofessionalism when they are promoting the Runescape
Franchise
.
