Hi,

When hovering above the J-Mod's spinning icon below their avatar, I'm unable to load their profile description.
As I hover over their name, it won't load the description before the spinning has finished. It keeps jumping back and forth between 2 URL's.

Is this a known bug? I'm on Chrome Version 84.0.4147.105

Can't say I've noticed that before but I was just able to re-produce it. It seems fine if you move your mouse away, allow the crown to finish its dance (some JMod having a bit of fun with that effect lol) and then hover over the JMod's name.

Hopefully one of the JMods picks this up but I can't imagine it being a high priority to fix. :(

It's probably a bug, yes, but as Joel has said, I'm sure it isn't something that important to fix right now. You may always check their profile description before clicking on their crown or move the mouse right away from the crown if you have clicked on it first. That should meanwhile "fix" this issue.

Oddly enough, it's not really a bug...the CSS is doing what it's supposed to do for animation....it just has a side-effect from....other parts of the design overlapping from not being constrained more in size.

Basically, the image has a whitespace area around it....adding a slight background-color to it makes it visible:

So we see here the crown piece overlaps when it spins....so if your mouse is on it down there, the animation will play....it'll move off the cursor, so the animation will end and return to the cursor, so it'll activate again and move off...which will end the animation and spin back to it, rinse and repeat...

Solution to fix it is for Jagex to add this css; it removes the unnecessary space around the image which will prevent the whole issue:

Otherwise ya, the 'fix' above is the only thing that we as players could do in the mean time.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

Yeah, I brought the same issue up a short while ago:

[BUG] - JMod Forum Crowns

Here's something you didn't know about it though.

The spinning crown is directly linked to the position of your cursor over the JMod's name.

If you move your cursor to the left on the name (after spinning up the crown), it will rotate the crown clockwise. If you move the cursor to the right, it will will rotate the crown counter-clockwise. You can rotate the crown back and forth by moving your cursor back and forth over the name.
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great! :)

Hi everyone,

Thank you for keeping me posted with your informative comments. And Joel, you're right, it only occured for me when hovering over the name during the spinning of the icon.

It's a very insignificant bug indeed :)

NexOrigin - Thank you, and I apologise for creating a duplicate post. I'll have to look better next! ^_^
