Hi there,

I've made an Excel-sheet with different methods of training certain skills, calculating profits, materials, all that sort of stuff. But the problem is that I've manually put in the prices of these items and materials into my Excel-sheet.

I want to be able to get the live GE prices, I've tried looking it up and I see all this information about API's and decided it would make for a fun little project to get this to work, but I have no clue how...

Question is: Can anybody help me, point me in the right direction or guide me into getting my Excel-sheet to work, with or without the API? I just do not have the know-how in this point in time.

I wouldn't know how to get the API's for GE prices, however another user, BatwingRobes years ago created 99ftw.com - which was a spreadsheet for the best methods of training skills that was used by a large portion of the high level community at the time, myself included. It's no longer updates, however his spreadsheet managed to get GE prices straight from the site to calculate GP/XP.

Inspecting the code on that spreadsheet may have the answer. Good luck!

Hello Biernamaals,

I think that your best way of figuring out how to pull exact grand exchange prices would be to review the code from the various item guides and cost analysis tables that are utilized across various pages on the Runescape Wiki.

There is an API available for the Grand Exchange which returns the data in JSON format. Details are available on the RuneScape Wiki: https://runescape.wiki/w/Application_programming_interface#Grand_Exchange_Database_API
