Jagex/JMods always have said clearly that they wanna make contact with '
real people/players
' doing things manually, typing and clicking using keyboard and mouse rather than automated processes.
'
That includes login in.
'
Above all ... typing your own credentials help you to not forget about them, certainly in cases of recovery/appeal where they are needed the most. Instead of guessing.

Please read the previous comments. This is about security and the use of password managers.
Read the Rules of RuneScape and Terms & Conditions.

From the '
Rules of RuneScape
' ...

Play the game yourself, making sure you are in control of everything.

Software that is not allowed includes anything that:

- Tries to look at or change the communications between your device and our game worlds.
- Performs things in-game for you that you're meant to be doing yourself.
- Gets around the normal steps used to log in.
- Tries to make it easier to enter a busy game world than it would be for users not using the software.

It is not about the '
comments of others
' rather than it is about the '
Rules of RuneScape
'.

As I said earlier, Jagex/JMods always have said they want to interact with people rather than automated processes used by players whom refuse to do that themselves.

It is obvious that the Rules of RuneScape overrule ones opinion and is leading to all of us.

Read the Rules of RuneScape and Terms & Conditions.

1. Those rules were written back when world selection and the game client itself ran directly in the browser. It was possible to partially circumvent player limits by typing a world's url in the address bar. Some people even made clients that exploited this. Password managers weren't even a thing back then and these rules haven't been updated to reflect modern security best-practices.

2. The spirit of the rules is "don't let a bot play the game for you". Password managers don't do that, unless you're interpreting the rules in the stupidest way possible.
