I know we had something of one at the dawn of the year, and maybe I'm being a little greedy here, but I would like it very much if we could have another Q&A for things we'd like to know in regards to the Website and Forums. I have quite a few questions and I'm sure many others are itching to ask about certain things. It's rare for the forum community to get the privilege to have a Q&A Session about the website and forums, as so much of Q&A's usually revolve around in game stuff, and I think the community could really seize the opportunity.

Such a Q&A could help the website/forum/CM teams see what the community would like. Most Q&A's tend to happen on Twitch these days, but I think a W&F Q&A would be best suited on the forums. :P Though I wouldn't mind where so long as we could have one.

What are everyone else's thoughts on the idea?

Depends if they are actually going to do anything with the forums. If the answer is just going to be along the lines of 'we are not considering updating the forums at this time' then no, it would just be a waste. :)

I would hope they'd be willing to bring a writing utensil and some parchment along when they sit down to do the Q&A.

Well I would hope they would make a wishlist of sorts - things we ask about that sounds like a good idea to them they could jot down and maybe look at when they do get around to giving the website and forums some attention.

I see. But that's not a q&a session then plus they should be looking in this forum section for ideas. I understand where you are coming from and I get how frustrating it is to rarely see a change to the forums, except for the moving/deleting of forum sections but I don't think they should do one unless they have decent answers to give. :)

I think if we asked a variety of questions we could get a variety of decent answers. For example questions don't all have to be along the lines of "Any plans of updating this or that" Random Jmod "No plans sorry", which is what I think you're worried about. I would imagine we could see questions about what plans the web and forum team have as a whole, maybe questions about certain functionality features being added, questions about fmods, etc.

I've got similar sentiments to Sookie on this one. If we just look at the ~0 interaction of the forum devs (do these people even exist is not 100% clear) with us as of late is a clear sign there are no plans for any forum improvements. We would've heard about it in BTS probably by now if there was going to be anything. I have a feeling every question would be something like "can you add feature x" and every reply will either be:
"We do not have those capabilities (technical limitations)"
"No"
"We do not have plans to do this"
If you ask well what DO they have plans for:
"We do not have a specific response we can give to that, check back in 7 years when upper management okays the forum improvement budget".

Support. It is always interesting to see what's planned for the forums, both policy-wise and feature-wise.

Also, Misha, in fairness, the forums have received several updates over the last few years including avatars, hyperlinking, quotes, and BBCodes.

We do know for sure that there will be 1-2 more premier Q&A's. Maybe we could sneak in some W&F questions? :P Just a thought...
