While I'm still hopeful that the number of people speaking out against closing the forums will cause Jagex to reconsider, precautions need to be taken in case it isn't. I've heard some mention that some people are working on archiving the forums but a place to more clearly discuss who's archiving what and where it'll go is important so interested players will know how to access those archives. I believe Mexk is the forum mod doing an archive project. He will have links for us when it gets closer to the lockdown.

Casual legacy trash of 20 years in RS, writer of Skyrook Gorge (and other books) irl

Should the forums truly go; almost anyone from here is free to add me in-game.

I am actively archiving the forums, currently sitting at >5M posts across >103K threads (I am including all localised forums). As I am finishing the French forums and archived German forums, I will have everything saved. I will then be shifting my attention to rehosting the archive before doing a final crawl following the 25th read-only mode being activated.

It lightens the sorrow in my mind knowing the memories here won't be lost

I plan on persisting, and will continue to press Jagex to save the forums; and should they close the forums, to restore them

I totally forgot about the 'foreign' language forums!

I hope the archive won't be necessary..and should it be, I look forward to reading it in another 20 years.
