If there are 6 people all bumping 2 threads, according to me, those six need to be shot or electrocuted.
Yikes.
But in principle I believe we agree. I hate bump wars. I also hate when good and well made threads shrivel and die.
@Draco
The search function is bad.
For starters, it should only search within the subforum you are in. If I want to search the whole forum, I can search from the forum overview page. Getting results from every subforum every time I search makes way too many results.
But additionally it's quite hard to find threads talking about what you are looking for unless you've read the thread before and know exactly the title you are looking for.
If threads had theme tags like reddit does then being able to refine a search by tag would be a lot more helpful.
Just as an example, how would you ever find this thread right here if you didn't read it before? You would be quite unlikely to think to type in the words "first page" when you're looking for forum posts talking about subforums or subdividing the forums.

What confusion? I think it's more confusing for players looking for guides in the guides section, and can't find any because the vast majority of threads are just players asking for help with something.
Or how about the Businesses and Services section that has almost no Businesses and Services threads because the section is full of aggressive sellers selling random items?
Theres a search function for this exact reason.
Ah yes, who could forget about the broken search feature? What a wonderful suggestion.
Your solution to forum sections having certain types of threads, such as Business and Service threads, being pushed off the forums by aggressive item sellers... is to use the search feature. Because that somehow will change how the forum section is being used, right?
Let's forget that the search feature is broken, and pretend that it actually works properly.
How does having a working search feature resolve the issue? It doesn't.
But let me illustrate why your suggestion is even worse:
Try doing a search for 'youtube'. Then tell me how many search results there are for the W&F section.
I'll give you a hint. It's more than 1.
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great!

Yeah, when one of my threads falls to second page I usually don't bump it or comment unless I consider it a "hot" thread. As soon as one of my threads falls to page 2 in general, I create a new one. This will go on until my thread notepad is empty of threads which isn't likely when I can think of a new one at least once a week.
I mean its obvious you're the one who doesnt understand.
Plus a screenshot can be faked so theres that.
I didn't ignore it, I directly responded to it. YOU ignored what I said. The search feature is broken. I know this because I've tried. You claim I should use the feature. Well, you clearly haven't tried it, otherwise you would agree that it's broken.
And um, are you claiming that you would fake a screenshot, just to avoid admitting that my statements about the search feature being broken are correct?
Like I said man, the search feature is broken. You clearly didn't bother to try it before suggesting it, and when I explained it was broken, you implied that it was because I don't "understand how to fully utilize" it.
And when you get called out on that, you claim I haven't acknowledged your post... I literally responded directly to your post. If I didn't acknowledge that the search feature exists, then why did I explain about it being broken?
And if you think somehow "filtering" fixes the problem, then go and do it, and take a screenshot, because you clearly don't believe me when I tell you it's broken. So go and try it for yourself. Take a screenshot. Show me exactly how many threads in the W&F section have "youtube" in the title, by using the search feature. Go ahead. I'm waiting.
If feel the need to fake the screenshot, by all means, you do that... you go ahead and spend the time faking screenshots just to avoid admitting that you were incorrect.
I'll be anxiously awaiting your response.
