Hi, all.

Please note that this was brought to Mod Lyon's attention many years ago. It was also reported as a bug. Considering that we now have Jagex accounts, I wish to bring this up again.

If you are the kind of player that logs in-game first, then this would be helpful to you. Right now, if you log in-game and wish to automatically log into the website without having to enter your credentials again, you may simply click on a News post or your Message Centre on the RS3 lobby screen. This will automatically take you to the website and log you in.

From there, you will be able to freely post on the Forums, as long as you qualify to post, of course. Although I am not a member, I have the minimum requirements to post; however, if I do the same with the Old School RuneScape (OSRS) client, I will be automatically logged in but the "
New Thread
" and "
Reply
" buttons disappear, thus disallowing me to either make a thread or partake in a thread's conversation. Clicking on a News post on the OSRS client doesn't log you into the website; only clicking on your Message Centre does, obviously.

I'll share some screenshots below for visualization:

This is what I normally see when I log in to the website first or in-game (RS3) and then click on either a News post or my Message Centre. I can clearly add a new thread or a reply to an existing thread:

Now, when I log in using the OSRS client by clicking on my Message Centre, this is what's shown to me when I head to the Forums, i.e., both buttons disappear:

It is possible that this may be looked into? I wouldn't want to be logging into my account twice in other to play the game and use the Forums. :P

Thanks.

P.S. If any of you wish to try this out, it'd be ideal in order to determine if I am the only one with this issue or not.

After posting this thread, this is what I see when I'm logged in. I can notice the "
Bump (0)
" marker and the "
Reply
" button:

" marker and the "

Jagex/JMods are working at the future of Jagex's Website & Forums to seamlessly switch to the future step by step for all products that come/are available for players.

If you have the ability to give your feedback than there's no need to have another doorway to give that same feedback, delivering at the same place. Jagex/JMods took care to make sure feedback can be given ingame too, so there's no need to panic or accuse players of being toxic.

State your problem, which feedback are you unable to forward?

You're not alone, it's a thing on all f2p accounts, regardless of total level on both games.

Likely something to do with how the game generates login sessions for the website coming from OSRS. Whenever you sign in, the website updates your session with current information like pmod, membership, bans, mutes, etc. So something must be happening on the OSRS login portal which is preventing the game level check from occurring....so defaults to none.

Granted with the newer login system, not really a big deal to sign in once per couple weeks on the website. Just go to the main site, hit log in, and it'll load your session and prompt you with the character selection screen (or directly log you into your character if you use social logins/non jagex acct)...then you can go about your business with no issues.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?
