How will we get it through the other 98%, rather than the selected few who reads this board.
Do we embed a warning in code of conduct? Do we encourage moderators to mention the issue when they close duplicates? Do we as good forumers warn others about it?
Currently I don't see any of the above very commonly. Hence I created the thread. I think effort is needed to get the knowledge across to everyone.

Most F-Mods do leave a " Don't worry message " it was caused by forum lag when locking/hiding duplicates.
Not 1 single person yet has been banned from the forums for forum lag and I'll be shocked and stunned if anyone would be. It happens and the fix is a few seconds to hide will fix it.

I like to hear that. Not here to be negative but I just don't see it very often nor do I give any heads up very often either. Shrug
Meant it as more of a guideline. Not a good protocol to punish for an unknown issue!

I think it's common knowledge thing with the F-Mod team and CM Staff that the bug is here to stay. So for us to have a guideline isn't something for me personally is needed. It's more a common sense approach when dealing with any duplicates.
I also think most of the Community know it's still around too. Still see a few but not many duplicates. More when people are using their phones.
