For the Future Updates ('upcoming game updates' subforum) and the various suggestion forums, could we have a sort of 'refresh'?
Basically a Mod creates an entirely new "Future Update", "New Game Suggestions", and "Exisiting Game" subforum ... threads that are active, the OP's or caretakers can have them moved over .... and the old forums are removed.

This has happened a few times in the past.

Future Updates has threads going back to early 2018 on top of having a number of OSRS threads mixed in.
The suggestion forums could use a refresh to see which ideas players are still vocal about.

I think an archive may be a better option.
That way inactive threads and suggestions that are passed to live game can be moved to archive. A fair inactivity period could be 3 or 12 months.

Definitely an interesting prospect. Quite a big task, but an interesting prospect nonetheless! I'll pass this idea on to the relevant JMods :)

Actually, it's not really that huge of a task.

1) They just need to create a new subforum. They've done that plenty of times
2) The future games updates subforum has several pages of locked threads, and not many active ones.
The # of requests you'll get should be fairly limited
3) give it a few weeks (ie: waiting for people to post to ask for the moves)
4) finally do the standard archiving of an old subforum

they've done this a few times in the past. but like I said, this one shouldn't be as big of a task

Basically:
- Jmods create 3 new subforums along with sticky posts talking about the moves and what to do
- LMods and FMods act on any thread that requests the move
- a given period of time later, Jmods close the 'old' subforums
