I like the date there to be fair as it shows off the date of membership etc. Mine is wrong I started in 2001 and paid with Paypal $5. Jagex spotted I was in the UK so changed to £'s. My date then changed.
I like seeing it as it's party of My own RuneScape history. I would miss it if it was gone.

possibly date could be when you set up membership initially and not the age of your account my date has changed 4 times so far because i keep taking breaks, here is an older pic of my profile
