I really hate to say this, but I really need to say this, I'm very sorry Jagex - you're indifference in this situation is wrong. I'm disappointed that in the age when the whole world is fighting climate change - runescape.com website has a huge carbon footprint. All I need to do is to check the fan rotation speed of my desktop computer before and while browsing the runescape.com domain. The site needs a lot more resources from the client computer than what should be acceptable.

Jagex made runescape.com a script-bloated website, when many web developers internationally speaking are embracing minimalism and mobile-first principle.

Anyone who denies this fact is no different from flat-earthers and anti-vaxers. The evidence of bloat is very obvious for runescape.com domain.

Can you raise this issue with Jagex? I'd like a Jmod response.

... I only wanted to point out that if it were an 'absolute Jagex side issue' we 'BOTH' would be in the same boat having the same problems but thus far you and others in a different part of the world have these issues.

It can be a Jagex issue and not effect everyone equally. Again, I'm happy your individual results are acceptible. This does not preclude the assumption that Jagex is at fault for this one specific issue.

95% of my page loads operate about as quickly as your own. I would assume Immortalized agrees on this. The 5% that don't take, these days, on average of 6-8 seconds to load. However occasionally they exhibit the old behaviour and can go up to 20-30.

Still why do people always instantly say: Its Jagex! or its just you.
It is still possible that the problem is out side.

A cable, the company you pay, the part you life because a lot of people go online and because a lot of people are forced to stay at home now the last part is pretty much the most likely problem here.

That's fine, and where the evidence suggests it's the user, I'll blame the user. Where the evidence suggests its Jagex, I'll blame Jagex. And the evidence suggests it's Jagex.

I reported this problem 5 months ago.

Hmm said :
It's almost certainly the same issue as when I posted similar looking graphs 5 months ago

Here

You do understand that I say it is probably NOT Jagex fault, but the company that delivers the connection to you.
This because a lot of people use it at same time maybe at the area you were you life? etc etc.

Most time it is the company in between, but people instantly blame Jagex or just look at there own home.
Fact stays there are many maaany other things that are able to cause the problem.

I do not blame any one, I only say what can cause a problem and people should be careful at pointing fingers.

This is what a normal request looks like

The blocking means the browser hasn't even attempted to send a request yet, because its busy doing other stuff. If it wasn't blocking, it could have started 184ms ago, but it literally hasn't started.

You then notice the next 4 sections are 0 MS, because all these steps are cached or presetup, so they're effectively instant.

Until you get to waiting. Waiting comes after sending, where sending is, "Can I have this file", waiting is, "Sure, just let me get it". This JPG it's downloading, the server takes 20 ms to go get the file from its hard drive, or whatever other storage/caching it is using. That's pretty good.

1MS after its found the file, the file has transmitted over the network and at my end.

Overall network time: 1MS. Overall time to transfer: 20 MS. 19MS waiting on Jagex.

Compare that to this

Overall network time: <1MS.
Overall time to transfer: 5600MS
5600MS waiting on Jagex.

It *IS* a Jagex problem. What evidence am I supposed to provide better than the literal servers themselves saying it's them who are struggling, and not the inbetween nodes.

it is hard to explain this issue to those that are not technically familiar with it

but basically, every other aspect of the webpage loads fast, except this specific request

since the site is secured with HTTPS my ISP has no way of throttling this request any different than any other request, since it can't identify it among any other request I sent to the site

so that narrows it down to a problem on jagex's end

see my benchmarks of the specific request fluctuating from 1s to a median of 6s

there's nothing to blame here but jagex, and it's backed by informed technical evidence
