I was 11-3 in my picks for my football pool last week, ended up winning $70
Hopefully I can keep it going next week, and I picked a few upsets too:
NO over ATL: It's hard to beat the Saints in a primetime game in their stadium, regardless of how good/bad they've been playing. Every time these two teams play each other it seems like it can go either way. Atlanta showed some vulnerabilities last week on offense, so we'll see what happens.
DET over CHI: The Lions have nothing to lose at this point...I feel like they'll play strong knowing the state they're currently in, and their defense definitely can set the tone of the game as Chicago's offense has somewhat been sluggish so far this season. Got to earn your first win some way or another. :L
JAX over HOU: Blake Bortles was fairly impressive last week as he put up over 300 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. If an old, rusty, unhealthy Matt Hasselbeck can carve up Houston's defense, I'm sure Bortles can do the same.
Just throwing my two cents out there, I guess I'll see what happens. Good luck to every one with fantasy and such next week :~)

^ Not sure I would call those upsets, especially the last two. Detroit is a better team than Chicago. Jacksonville and Houston are both bad and the game is @ Jaguars. An upset would be a team like Cleveland going to Lambeau and ending the Packers home winning streak, not a bad team beating another bad team.
Just checked each game: Atlanta is favored, Chicago is favored, and the JAX/HOU game is a tie. Other than that, I think I picked every other team that was favored to win. Regardless, everyone else's picks are all over the place for these 3 games and I know they are going to either make me or break me this week.

I think just because you're an underdog doesn't mean its an upset. Pretty much anything within a 3 point spread I wouldn't consider an upset at all. Even if the underdog wins. Its pretty much just arguing semantics though.
Also the saints are baddddddd. They played terrible the year Sean Payton had to sit out, even in primetime and even in their own building. I wouldn't pick them for anything at this point (They already lost to Tampa Bay in New Orleans too btw).
