Australia won the toss and batted first and made 329, top scorers were Finch with 109, Smith with 73 and Warner 53. Wicket takers for South Africa were Morkel 2 and singles for Philander, AB De Villiers and Behardien. South Africa were bowled out for 256 to lose by 73, top scorers were Amla with 102 and De Villiers 52. Australian wicket takers were Stark 4. Hazelwood 3 and singles for Richardson and Marsh.

Australia won a thriller. at 5 for 98 after 24 overs it all looked lost for the Aussies. but enter Steven Smith and Matthew Wade. to bring us out of the depths of hell to the brink of something amazing, we went from 5-98 off 24.1 overs to 6-219 off 44.2 overs when Wade fell for a very important 52 of 59 balls. with still 49 required from 34 balls out comes the man to finish things off FAULKNER. came out and went BANG, Blitzed 34 from 19 balls to take Australia to a very unlikely victory. Smith fell when the scores were tied for a magical 104 that won him man of the match.
