Yorkshire lost the final game in the championship and finished third in the league, behind Middlesex and Somerset (Chris Rogers was brilliant for Somerset, two centuries)
Lehmann was recalled by his Aus team for practice. Because practice in the 1 day game would be better for him than playing in a highly competitive, intense, hugely important county championship match I guess. Cant say that I understand the logic there.
Root couldn't play for Yorks, England wanted him to rest, fair enough, he played all forms of the game over the summer.
Bairstow couldn't play for Yorks either. Bairstow wanted to play, Yorkshire wanted him to play, Andrew Strauss (England's cricket director) wanted him to rest. Maybe Strauss (who used to play for Middlesex) thought that 2 days cricket over the previous 15 days had tired him out? Who knows, but Yorks weren't happy.
Shame for Bresnan who had an outstanding match and for Dizzy who leaves Yorkshire now after doing some great work with them. Yorks seriously let down by their top order batsmen who have had a fairly poor year. At least Yorks had made some big improvements ion their one day games and vvm, there's always next year
