So my bro and I are looking to upgrade. In case your wondering, we have a 2006 emachines, so its pretty bad. Anyway, we are looking around, and I see this is on sale, and just within our price range as well (neither of us can get jobs, we both have TRIED dozens of places around here, even looked into online jobs, to no luck.)

I see that its upgradeable, in almost every respect, so we are seriously thinking about getting it. I want some advice. Should we get it? If so, what should be the top thin we should look at to upgrade in the future?

As a side note, we have very very bad weekend jobs, and anytime we TRY to save up for a computer, something always happens and the money gets spent. So we just gave up looking for anything above 150-200$ range.

yea cept the fact, that anytime we buy anything to use later, ends up getting broken in this house. I posted this question in another forums (not the RSOF) and a guy linked me to something better, with the downside of having a low power supply. I dont know anything about computers tbh, thats why im asking. All i know is, this computer (Both theone I posted here, adn the one the guy mentioned) are both way better then this potatoe im running.

If i had the money, I would say yes, I would build my own computer. Problem is, no real job (well, weekend paper job, only 18$ a week) kinda puts a damper on things.

And yes, I have put in applications for over 20 jobs this month. It just seems im unhireable.

Your budget is quite tight for a decent system. I'd say you need at least £300-350 in order to be able to purchase a system that can run things comfortably.

Of course, the system you need solely depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to hardcore game + multi-task religiously, then your budget is obviously going to need to increase even further to afford that kind of power.

The problem with pre-built is they cheap out on components so you usually always run into performance-related issues (due to poor combination of hardware), that's why people keep saying "build your own", it might sound annoying (especially when you've said you can't) but it's the truth. :P

Becoming your own PC builder makes you the boss of what goes in and out of your system, that's why it's most favoured. I've yet to build my own but eventually I will because pre-built suck if you want to do any form of real gaming or perform intensive tasks comfortably.

Of course if you want to save costs, you could always buy a system that doesn't have an OS installed (this may cut out costs since it's probably factored into the cost of the entire system) and allow you to get something better out of your budget. That's what I did. However, getting the OS for free requires a bit of knowledge and has to be something you're comfortable doing (if you're paranoid about stuff).

You might not think it, but currently, this game seems to demand quite a lot out of your system. The weaker it is, the more it'll struggle with a game like this.

I don't think the system you listed would perform well with RS3, tbh. :S like I said, your budget is quite strict to get something that would be considered decent.

I'm not sure what to list as a replacement because if I had that low of a budget for a system, I most likely wouldn't bother because it'd be a waste.

Probably a good section would be low level general section, a guy called Who-dr will probably answer your question in quite a lot of detail

OFF TOPIC you scrub.

Save up some more and buy something better that won't leave you thinking I need to get something better as soon as you use it.
