Anyone else incredibly stressed by this storm? Right now, there's a 50/50 shot that my area will get a direct impact. If the hurricane makes landfall within around seventy miles of my house, then I probably won't have a home to come back to. Hell, I know I won't.
I'm stressed as hell. I've always known that getting hit dead center by a devastating hurricane has always been a matter of "when" and not a matter of "if", but actually being faced with it has been a nightmare. I can save my pets and a box or two of things that I can take with me in the car (important documents, medication, some clothes, a few sentimental objects, my laptop, and maybe a game console), but everything else is at risk. My place of employment is also at risk since a Category 3 would flood and destroy it, essentially putting me out of work at the worst possible time.
I just feel completely helpless.
