I sometimes wonder if Sakura is the most hated anime character ever I didn't like her in the first series, I did like her in the second until the first arc with Gaara was over. Then she started whining, and it's all downhill after.
And I don't just hate lead female characters etc. as they're portrayed either. For example, I am not the biggest Lucy fan for Fairy Tail, but I don't ''hate'' her. She still contributes and is a character in herself, even if her character is mostly boobs and other fanservice.
What's Sakura? I know team 7 is meant to be the next generation of the legendary Sannin since they are all trained by them. But that said, Naruto and Sasuke aren't blatant clones of their predecessors and have defining aspects. Even if those aspects are starting to become tiresome since they're constantly mentioned as their driving force to succeed. Idk what Sakura is doing next episode...but presently I see her as useless (constantly complaining), and as a character not unique (nothing sets her apart).
IMO Karin is a better character than Sakura...and considering the vast difference in amounts of character development, that's saying something.
