Ah that makes sense. A lot pf parasites that cause significant pathology are passed via the fecal-oral-route of infection. A lot of parasitic life cycles rely on the host consuming some kind of contaminated vegetation, and children can become infected from playing with dirt in which someone has defecated. This kind of education is unfortunately lacking in developing countries.
