katanas arent exactly supposed for swordfights anyway. The blades are thin and easily break. A common misconception is that normal swords can outlast far longer when used such as in movies. While in reality, those too can break rather easily when used inproperly.

Still, when speed is what you require a katana is the favoured option. A friend of me is specialised in medieval weaponry and in the general 1 on 1 battles he preferred a hookstick made of wood.

I collect weapons myself. I also collect armour, I own a full suit of armour that was customly made for me. I also have a Hospitaller crusader outfit. As for the talk about katanas. Yeah they aren't really made for sword clashing, they were generally used for swift killing blows.
