The governor had to call in 150 soldiers to deal with 4ft of lake effect snow that hit buffalo ny. Buffalo is in Niagara county and I live in Monroe county.

The space to the north of us? That's Lake Ontario. Wind + cold + a large body of water = LAKE EFFECT SNOW. Lake effect snow is to regular snow as Wasps are to bees.

So while my area did not get much snow what it did get was fresh powder. Which is 0 traction (Think driving on ice that looks like safe road with a very thin layer of snow on it that may even show road in a few areas) Deceptive and evil. Also FREEZING windchill.
I've lost 154 pounds in the last year and a bit so I can simply NOT GET WARM. And a super storm hits... So I go to put on my jacket... it's a size 2XL... I'm now a medium.... One flap of the jacket completely reaches the other side of me on its own....

So when zipped all the cold air gets blown up it by the wind... I ended up having to take my belt off and rig it... I'm told I looked very Russian or like I was concealing a sawed off shotgun... People that know me always assume I'm violent for some reason
(Also even with a heavy winter jacket folded over under it I'm still on the smallest size of the smallest belt Carhartt makes)
