Kyokushin. Basically full contact karate. My dad was coaching as a hobby from competing at younger age, so he trained me and my brother at home since we were little.
very nice you look good, my dad got his black belt in shotokan when he was little and tried teaching me a bunch, but I never did like it too much. I ended up doing a little kick boxing but didn't stay there for long and found krav maga and I've been in love ever since.
Yeah I used to quite a lot, especially with friends who did other styles/sports. Put it aside the last 2 years due to psychiatric medication that disrupts focus a lot but I've grown up with the training and will probably have it there most of my life to some extent. Just passive for now.
Always had more love for the mental and ceremonial part of martial arts, never got interested in ground-game and MMA for that reason. Krav is exactly the type of "functional" or like actually more efficiency based martial art that I don't enjoy much.
Yeah it's usually one or the other, often because of the reason people train to begin with. I'm actually afraid of hurting someone, even tho I've spent like 15 years learning "how to" I still look at it more like a ceremonial dance than actual fighting.

well if you're good you should have full control and be able to not seriously hurt someone if you don't want too, a little bump only gauges how much of a man they are
