Looks a lot more clean than 3x 1920x1080 for the loss of 640 pixels :P

I was actually thinking about replacing all the case fans with some corsair quiet edition ones. I've noticed over the past 2 weeks or so that the stock fans that came with my case have this distinctive hum to them when on low setting which is what I typically keep the case fans.

I think the top 200m fan is probably the culprit but I think I'll just get 2 120s for the front intake, 2 120s with a splitter to replace the 200m top exhaust and 1 140 for the rear exhaust.  That's what I'm considering anyway, because I have yet come across a point that I need case fans at higher RPM to keep anything cool. My cm cpu cooler is a beast with the cpu and my graphics card hasn't seen above 70C, both under heavy stress tests.  Probably because of how much room I have for heat to disperse in my case and the fact that I've done zero overclocking, quite frankly I've seen no reason to need to yet, my gtx 970 with i7-4790k is just a tank with everything I throw at it.

I have a Corsair 500r case and now that you mention it, I can hear the fans humming...

I've never noticed until now, and I will probably spend a bit on replacing the case fans. I've literally not changed anything when it comes to cooling since I built it (2 and a half years ago now), which is probably why everything's starting to run a little toasty. (CPU sits at 50c~ with RS open, GPU around the same)

I replaced the thermal paste on the stock cooler (yay for poor budget at the time) sometime last year which helped a bit.

How much does a good set of fans actually cost? I was looking at the Scythe Mugen 4/CM Evo 212/CM Evo 412s which are around £30/20/30 respectively, but I never thought about replacing the case fans.

Yikes, my cpu and gpu both sit comfortably in the 30C area on rs.
I know 4 120s and a 140 is right around the $100 mark with the corsair quiet editions. Not sure about other brands. I would love to try out the noctua quiet edition because they're apparently hands down the quietest on the market.... but they are by far the ugliest abomination of a fan I've ever seen and that particular noctua fan can't be disassembled without breaking the cap on the fan so painting it is out of the question.
