University challenge is a tv quiz in the UK where teams of four from various universities compete to win. The questions are for the most part high brow. As such the contestants usually wear formal/formal casual but this guy was wearing a big chain and a leather vest.

Some people such as myself found this amusing because we are sad bastards.

I googled vest after my first post and it was the top result lol.
