Solidus solid and liquid are clones of Big Boss...Solid actually has the recessive genes.
Liquid has the dominant ones.Solidus idr id have to play mgs 2 again.

in MGS1, Liquid believes he has the recessive genes, and in fact that fallacy is one reason he hates snake so much, and his plans on shadow moses are in a way a means of proving himself and an attempt to surpass his brother, who he mistakenly believes is genetically superior. at the end of MGS1, a call between Ocelot and (i think) the then-president of the USA reveals that the opposite was true, that Solid was actually the inferior clone. Neither Solid nor Liquid ever find out the truth about their genetic identities though.

Solidus, on the other hand, is an exact copy of Big Boss, gene for gene, both dominant and recessive alleles expressed just as they were with the original. That's why Liquid Ocelot was able to use Solidus' preserved remains to gain access to the Patriots' systems, even though only Big Boss' or Zero's biometrics should work, because Solidus, biologically speaking, essentially IS Big Boss.

all three of them however, were sterilized (most likely after birth, not through genetic means, in order to maintain as close a genetic fingerprint of Big Boss as possible, especially in Solidus' case), and had their telomeres shortened. Telomeres govern how many times your cells can replicate; aging occurs when cells can no longer replicate and maintain youth, and then slowly die off. That's why Solid and Solidus looked to be at LEAST in their 60's when in fact Solidus was only 37 years old when he Raiden defeated him (his telomeres were even shorter than Solid's and Liquid's), and Solid, during MGS4, is only 42.
