I had those. Those were a waste. My teeth shifted back to their original positions immediately after the braces came off.
Also, if you can avoid "molar braces" and getting teeth removed, avoid them.
Annnnnd... when they are on, try to brush after every bit of food, otherwise, once the braces come off, it will be 6 months-1 year of cavities (since, when the metallic pieces are in place, food gets stuck under there).

After I got mine on just some normal aspirin was good enough to relieve the pain. But generally the first week of getting them on, and then the first week after getting them re-tightened for the first time were the worst times for me. Every time after that has been pretty just whatever.
My teeth were super bad though :\. I had to have surgery and get ~6 teeth removed, including a baby tooth that was never pushed out properly. lol
