Bunch of students were complaining about time it takes to walk a mile. I told them to run and they will have 10 minutes to get from there to here. I thought I was nice by giving and extra 5 minutes, according to them they need an extra 15. My reply "run"

Was I rude? Everyone I seem to ask says no. Maybe all of you will have a different opinion. Also, please provide 'why'.
