About 5-6 years ago, my bottom right molar had a cavity. A small cavity. That's what the dentist said. So. I let him fill it. Something felt wrong when it went and drilled too deep. For a small cavity. But, I didn't say anything. I am no dentist, so I had figured he knew what he was doing.
He nicked a root-nerve.
The tooth became super-freaking-awfully-and-obnoxiously sensitive to cold foods. Sugars, too. As a result, if I were to drink or eat something cold, there would be excruciating pain.
