I sort of remember Lion King 2... I had thought it was just a mere remake, as it had almost the same story. I later learnt that it was based on another Shakespeare tale, too. I sort of remember really enjoying Kovu, and really hating Simba.

Yea no it has it's whole own story to it and everything. My memory on Lion King 2 is vague also but I think what you're getting confused is Lion King 1/2 that they came out with. I thought it was stupid.... when I was younger I was expecting like a new movie but it was pretty much a "digitally remastered remake" of Lion King or some bs :|
