yeah the folks I spent the day with aint got internet, so now this whole marked safe stuff seems kinda silly, but gotta say man. texas shows up. met like twelve dudes with chainsaws who came to get down, and all they said was "Im from rockwall" (they had a tornado whomp them in 2015), and thats all the intro they needed.
I was exhausted and fell asleep by 1700 hrs, and Im a little too awake at 0300
didnt take pics but there was cars upside down in lawns, uprooted monster trees laying across half a house, and black streaks all over everything from roof tar shingles slapping.
tornado bounced just over my blocks. carnage is like six blocks away.
the old folks I am focused on helpin had their meter ripped loose of the house and its hangin bent out like 3 feet which means they gotta get inpsection, new permit, etc; and its gonna be at least ten days til they can have real power. kinda weird bondin experience to just help where needed and be makin lists of who has, who needs, generators, and with what priorities like... old man needs breathin machine at night. etc.
on a normal day any place like northern tool, harbor freight, tractor supply company, lowes, or home depot would have generators rangin 200 to 2000 bucks, but theyre either flattened by tornado or emptied by tornado victims. so indeed hooray for my internet. ordered alla that thru prime.

this is the block I been workin with chainsaw people (just normal texans who have chainsaws and come by to help for awhile). hundreds of thousands without power for maybe a couple more weeks, so any charge they get they might not sign in to tell y'all. in this first picture notice how the circle of root is lifting up a big slab of clay taller than the house.
