I've been watching some videos on youtube trying to find builds and get a feel for what parts are best for my dollar. I'm trying to build for close to $1000. i can do $1200 or so if needed but i've seen several good builds for 1k i feel i can do it.

Anyways I only plan on playing Runescape on NXT and World of Warcraft for now. WoW has higher recommended specs so I'll list them if it helps at all.

****Need:
intel core i5-3300/ amd fx-6300, or better
gtx 750 Ti/ R7 260x, or better
4gb ram
45gb hd space*******

i sorta hate the idea of being a total copycat but i saw this build on youtube

and to me it looks super solid i was looking to basically do what's listed here but ive looked around it seems like for graphics card r9 390 beats the gtx 970? so im looking to use the 390 instead? if it'll work in the build i guess i need to see if its compatable with the rest, i dont have much time atm to be on lol. would anyone have input on a graphics card for me please =]

also im clueless on a good cpu cooler to go for in the video/description he added his cooler b/c it was cheap but Im definitely willing to spend a little more if its a better quality cooler I don't want to be overheating

should I get a "semi modular" power supply? ive seen other builds where it's said it helps quite a bit with cable management in the case. is this something I need?

Do the build you posted, swap out the GTX 970 for the RX 480 (depending on whichever is cheapest for you) - they're basically equivalent when it comes to gaming.

Pick a case you *genuinely* like. I mean, if it's going on your floor, whatever, but I have mine on my desk and I'm really happy I picked the case I did, it's so aesthetically pleasing. At the end of the day, you have just spent a grand on something, you at least want to take a look at it and think "Yeah, that's nice". I particularly like the InWin 303, however it lacks a bit of functionality, but it's so pretty. You can find some reviews online if you so wish :)

Otherwise, you've got the basics nailed down. Z170 board for overclocking, top tier unlocked i5, good mid-high end GPU, 250GB SSD and a 1tb HDD - it's pretty much the staple mid-level build.

edit: Just saw what you said about the CPU cooler. I've heard a few things about the H7 and nothing was particularly bad. For $35, your options are either the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo, or that... Noctua or beQuiet! are the brands to go with for a CPU cooler when budget is not an issue, however they're a fair bit more expensive than $30.

If you do get that cooler, you might want to invest in both of these too:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W03RB4351&cm_re=thermal_paste-_-35-100-007-_-Product

It's only $12 for both, and allows you to clean up really easily if you make a mistake with applying thermal paste, and the Arctic Silver 5 paste is pretty good for its cost.
