Alright, so my car is about to hit the shitter (Transmission issue). Need to get a new car.

Seeing one right now listed at 4 grand USD. Seeing what KBB has to say, and seeing other parameters on the car in question, it definitely seems like a lowball (like, just *barely* in the range of what would be considered a fair price) sale. Should I try to press why the car is selling at such a lower than average rate, or not bother and find a different car to look at? If the car looks good but the price seems just almost a bit too low, I'd say that it would be worth a bit of investigating, yeah. It'd be one thing if the price was clearly too good to be true, but if it's just right on the line, I suppose it could go either way. :)

If you end up going to take a look at it and everything seems okay, you could also ask the owner about having a mechanic of your choice check it out as well, to be sure. You'd pay for a mechanic to do that, of course, but if it ends up being the green light to a great deal, it'd be well worth it.

yea if you like the car and wanting to buy it, worthwhile to pay a little to get it checked for a little insurance
