I have since today given up entirely with Torchlight 1 , literally never been able to play because of a conditional game crash, or it is just a plain broken software for the entire time since it birthed!
Hardware and setups I have tried to play Torchlight 1 on for 5 years by now:
1) Athlon single core processor at 2,4 Ghz
4GB of RAM and dedicated Radeo HD 3650 card, this machine had Windows XP installed.
2) APU branded (was a tower) processor I know very little about but was dual cored and clocked only to 1,4Ghz
4GB of RAM and integrated with Radeon HD 7310, this machine had Windows 7 then later upgrade to Windows 8 and then Windows 8.1
Today I have something more solid.
3) Intel Core i5-4460 four cores at 3,2Ghz
8GB of ram and dedicated GeForce GTX 950, this machine has Windows 10.
All three setups are 64 bits and had all the recommended libraries, and the riff raff installed what was both recommended and needed for Torchlight 1 to work, updated drivers at the time which was strongly recommended by the manufacturer, all were x86-compatible.
After a set amount of time playing Torchlight 1 it just crashes, followed with an error "Torchlight Executable Error" and have been in touch with both Microsoft (they point fingers to the game developers because of the nature of how the library is being used by the software in question) and the actual damn developers who made this game (saying they have been unable to reproduce this error for a fix despite perfectly clear logs of my system sent to them).
Why is this game THIS broken, additionally I have never played Torchlight 2 but is this error gone in the sequel?
