Real men use windows xp!
No, real men use Linux!
Seriously though, I don't personally use Windows much, but when I updated my Windows 7 to Windows 10 I felt the performance was better, but I also had some compatibility problems (with my Nvidia graphics card I think). Maybe just wait a bit more (but while it's still free) until more changes are made to Windows 10 so it's improved and there aren't as many bugs? I wouldn't recommend staying with Windows 7 for too long though because Windows 10 will have full support and more security updates.

What about Windows 8 Vs Windows 10? Bought this laptop 6 months ago, still deciding if I want to upgrade or not.
im like 90% sure 10>8 just like 7>vista
You can't even remotely compare 10 to 8 like 7 to vista. Vista was by far the worst layout microsoft ever created, and it was by far the worst resource hog as well; there wasn't a single thing about vista that was good. 8 is amazing once you disable touch screen junk, I'd even go as far as saying it's the best OS since XP. 7 had resource hog issues just like vista did, just not as major and was pretty much impossible to customize without destroying it in the process.
Quite frankly I don't even understand where people are getting 10 is better at all, it still has all the same crap people complained about with 8. It still looks the same as default 8 from everything I've seen. And from what I've read 10 is basically imprisoning absolutely everything about the computer to where you can't even turn stuff like updates off, much less change anything else. Chances are I won't even move to 10.

You can turn everything off you want, yes they do not just give you an option to turn stuff off or on, you just need the knowledge, or able to use the internet to find out how to.
