With the clue pet coming out, I was thinking of a way to make Blue still cool. What if Blue had an ability ( 3 - 5 charges, gain 1 charge after every 3 clues ) that you could follow him to the location of the next scan or compass?

You just right-click and select follow and you go to the location at run or walk speed.

Maybe you can feed Blue a master clue, and he will solve a puzzle by scratching at it as well? Perhaps it turns Blue into a BoB as well ( you have to feed it a yak or mammoth as well ).

How about letting blue use meerkat scrolls? Dogs do like to dig.
