Not being able to login is either a very convenient excuse or their web dev team is so lazy and incompetent that they couldn't be bothered to make secondary, low permission accounts for them to use at home.

As for why they don't use our feedback: they are understaffed for their own ideas/needed updates. They should probably allow outside programmers under an NDA and whatever else to make tweaks for them to implement. Free labor fixing the game/adding content. Kinda similar to how addons are made in other games, except this would be implemented in game by actual staff.

The point of feedback is for them to change stuff or hear it. If they are not even reading it, it is useless so remove it.

Shame to have less room to use but pointless to leave feedback which is never heard, waste of a section.

Personally, if Jagex isn't looking at it for feedback then I don't feel it should exist. I watch the streams but I don't recall them saying this... when was it?

I think a big part of a good clean up for the RSOF is to clean out very underused areas. The forums is massive & just simply doesn't have the traffic to justify having them all.

Would have to let HyunA answer that about the stream, since he told me about it :P

As for the clean up, I fully agree :P

Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.

I think it is fine to leave it unless it causes harm - like are there people who spend time posting feedback there thinking it will be read? Then it is causing harm and should be removed.

Based on the nearly 9000 threads posted there: at least 10 people aside from JR have posted there and wasted their time.

There was a time when I'd have said no and not budged in the slightest. Years ago I was strongly against it when it was first mentioned. However, I can't argue against any of the reasons stated in this thread for its removal.

I'm not concerned about losing history. There has never been any archiving on RSOF and I think long ago we already lost (with very exceptions) all the data that was worth preserving.

Jmod's haven't been here since Mod Mat left HLF, sure there was some visits from Mod Daezhun, Slayer, Chris L, and some others. But no real Jmod presence in the last 7-ish years. Even Mod Mat wasn't very active here towards the end. Any argument based around Jmod activity is pretty much moot, they left us a long time ago.

So it's finally been confirmed HLF Feedback isn't for Jmods. I expect it's mostly because they struggle to read anything longer than a tweet or that posting here does nothing for their social media status (no likes, karma, followers, etc here). Regardless of why, their lack of existence has been evident for a long time. Even those people who were in denial and believed Jmods lurked here gave up whatever hope they had after the feedback threads were removed. Jagex are not interested, it's nice that someone finally said it.

I don't think killing off feedback will hurt the forums in the short term. My biggest concern is long term repercussions. When things get removed we never get them back and it makes it easier to take more away again and again. It could start a snowball effect. I'm not even sure if that's a good or bad thing but it raises the question, where will it end? After all, the Feedback section is not really doing any harm.

I'm not prepared to say get rid of it, at the same time I wont be bothered if it goes.

honestly, I think this is the real reason they don't bother here anymore
