Golden isn't a type of Chinchompa. The species is still the same (Red, Crystal, Viridian, Grey, etc.) - it just looks gold, but it's still a regular chinchompa of its species.

A shiny Red chinchompa for example will look gold, but it will still behave like a red chinchompa and thus give you those as the reward.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but I went ahead and tested it myself.

Golden chinchompas award coins when their resources are gathered (regardless of their sub-species).
